About the role!
As our Special Education Teacher youll plan and deliver engaging instruction based on Common Core Standards differentiated instruction and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) while helping students achieve their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

Youll collaborate with our multidisciplinary team including embedded clinical and behavior colleagues to create supportive inclusive learning environments where students with autism ADHD emotional/behavioral disorders and learning disabilities can thrive.

This position reports to the Head of School.

As a Special Education Teacher you will:

• Design and implement dynamic differentiated instruction and individualized learning plans aligned to Common Core
• Develop deep understanding of each students learning profile using formal and informal assessments psychoeducational data and progress monitoring tools
• Create and implement IEPs behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and accommodations/modifications
• Partner with Behavior Specialists to implement our schoolwide Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS/PBT) system
• Track student progress through formal and informal assessments maintaining comprehensive portfolios and records
• Lead parent-teacher conferences and maintain strong family engagement and communication
• Create and update IEP goals and progress summaries with clarity and insight
• Present student progress and proposed goals at IEP meetings with confidence and expertise
• Administer California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) and other standardized assessments
• Co-facilitate team meetings and support paraprofessionals/instructional aides
• Participate in supervision and professional development opportunities
• Attend all required meetings and uphold school policies educational codes and confidentiality standards
• Maintain commitment to child safetymandated reporting duty andprofessional boundaries.
• Maintain your special education credential through continuing education

• Ability to develop comprehensive IEPs that address skill deficits while aligning with Common Core standards
• Collaborative mindset and leadership skills to work effectively on interdisciplinary teams

About your background (education/experience):

• Valid California Special Education Teaching Credential (Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe) or intern credential
• At minimum an intern-level credential (Masters Degree in Special Education or related field preferred)
• Experience in a special education classroom resource specialist program (RSP) or inclusion setting
• Background working with students with emotional/behavioral challenges autism and learning differences
• Experience implementing Common Core Curriculum Universal Design for Learning and differentiated instruction
• Demonstrated ability to create accommodations that optimize each students learning experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills including IEP writing and presentation
• Comfort with technology systems (G-suite Outlook) and incorporating technology into instruction
• Effective classroom management skills

Working Conditions:

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to complete Pro-ACT crisis management system training
• Ability to stand and sit for extended periods during instruction and supervision

Special Job Requirements:

• Availability for evening events (Back to School Night Art Show Achievement Night staff training IEP meetings)
• Valid CA drivers license preferred

• Ability to articulate expectations to classroom team and students

Compensation:
Range: $70304-$90000 per year
Pay Type: salary

The actual base salary is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background training work experience location business needs and market demand. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
