Job Summary
Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and manage all aspects of airfreight logistics operations for exports and imports with a primary focus on shipments handled by DHL and other freight forwarders.
2. Book shipments with My DHL for outbound shipments and schedule pickups tracking the %shipments until they reach the destination
4. Prepare and process all necessary documentation for air freight shipments including airway bills commercial invoices packing lists and other required paperwork.
5. Monitor shipment status and track the movement of goods throughout the air freight process proactively addressing any issues or delays to ensure on-time delivery.
6. Coordinate with internal stakeholders including scientists procurement and management to facilitate smooth logistics operations and optimize supply chain efficiency.
7. Generate internal reports for all inbound and outbound shipments and ensure that all documentation is uploaded to SharePoint.
8. Collaborate with ICEGATE customs agents accounts forwarders and banks to explore new approaches or address work-related inquiries as requested by management.
9. Negotiate rates and contracts with DHL and freight forwarders to secure competitive pricing and service agreements for air freight shipments.
10. Maintain accurate records of air freight shipments including shipment details documentation and related expenses to support reporting and analysis activities.
11. Stay updated on industry trends regulatory changes and best practices in air freight logistics particularly in handling chemical compounds and samples (hazardous perishable etc.).
12. Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the air freight logistics operations to enhance efficiency reduce costs and mitigate risks.
13. Hands-on experience with e-waybill generation and processing
Requirements
Required Skills:
Proven track record managing air freight operations specifically with major forwarders like DHL. Deep knowledge of import/export documentation customs procedures and government portals (e.g. ICEGATE). Hands-on experience with e-waybill systems and digital documentation platforms (e.g. SharePoint). Expert understanding of shipping protocols for hazardous temperature-sensitive and chemical goods. Strong data analysis skills to drive cost-reduction and negotiate favorable service contracts. Excellent interpersonal skills to bridge the gap between technical teams (scientists) and commercial stakeholders.
Required Education:
Bachelors or masters degree with 26 years of experience in handling end to end logistics functions.
