Salary:25583 -26403 per annum (Grade 3 SCP 5-7)
Working hours: Full-time- 37 hours per week all year around

The Role
Hayesfield Girls School is looking for a hardworking and reliable Groundsperson to join our Site Team. Reporting to the Site Manager you will be responsible for ensuring our school grounds gardens and sports pitches are maintained to an exceptional standard providing a safe and welcoming environment for our students staff and visitors.
The key responsibilities are:
- Sports Pitch Maintenance: Prepare all sports surfaces for play including precision grass cutting white-line marking and fertilizing as required.
- Horticulture & Grounds Care: Tend to school gardens weed flower beds maintain tubs and clip hedges or trim tree branches to keep the site tidy.
- Site Cleansing: Ensure all paths drives and courts are kept clear of leaves and debris and manage the emptying of external litter bins.
- Security & Maintenance: Assist with securing school boundaries repairing gates and fences and ensuring all maintenance equipment is stored securely.
- Seasonal Duties: Erect and dismantle sports equipment (such as tennis nets and football posts) and lead on the clearing of snow and ice during winter months.
- Driving Duties: Safely operate the school minibus or van as required for departmental needs.
Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Ability to undertake physical tasks including lifting bending twisting and working overhead in an outdoor environment.
- Previous experience in a maintenance or cleaning-related role with a reliable and adaptable approach to work.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a busy site team and respond enthusiastically to a changing environment.
- A basic level of literacy and numeracy and the ability to use electronic devices for school communication.
- A clean valid driving license (with D1 entitlement for minibuses preferred)
