Job Summary
SUMMARY:
Direct and manage the instrumental music and band program at assigned campus. Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual emotional physical and social growth and provide an opportunity to participate in extracurricular band. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
InstructionalStrategies
- Direct instrumental performers including marching band concert band soloists and ensembles.
- Establish performance requirements enforce academic requirements and verify eachstudents eligibility to participate in band.
- Provide for band participation at extracurricular events including concerts football gamesother sport events as assignedpep rallies parades andUniversity Interscholastic League(UIL).
- SupportBandBoosterClub activities.
- Developand implement plans that fulfill the requirements of theDistrictscurriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
- Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies activities materials and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned. Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency(TEA)Board policies andAdministrativeRegulations.
- Work cooperatively withSpecialEducationTeachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).
- Work with other members of the staff to determine instructional goals objectives and methods according toDistrict requirements.
- Developandimplementlessonplansforin-personlearningthatfulfilltherequirementsofDistricts curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
- Preparelessonsthatreflectaccommodationsfordifferencesinindividualstudentdifferences.
- Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructionalactivities.
Student Growth and Development
- Conductongoingassessmentofstudentachievementthroughformalandinformaltesting.
- Sponsoroutsideactivitiesapproved by the campus principal.
- Beapositiverolemodelforstudents.
Classroom Management and Organization
- Createa classroomenvironmentconducivetolearningandappropriateforthephysicalsocialand emotional development of students.
- ManagestudentbehaviorinaccordancewithStudentCodeofConductandstudenthandbook.
- Accompany and supervise students on out-of-town trips activities and arrange transportation lodging and meals for out-of-town events.
- Takeallnecessaryandreasonableprecautionstoprotectstudentsequipmentmaterialsand facilities.
- Assistinselectingbooksequipmentandotherinstructionalmaterials.
- Compilemaintainandfileallreportsrecordsandotherdocumentsrequired.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- BachelorsDegreefromanaccrediteduniversity
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate inAll Level Music
- Demonstrated competency in instrumental music
- Currentautomatedexternaldefibrillator(AED)and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate
Experience:
- Studentteachingapprovedinternshiporrelated workexperience

- Knowledge of overall operation of instrumental music program
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
