Position Overview Certified Welding Inspector

Were seeking AWS Certified Welding Inspectors (CWIs) to support our growing pipeline of infrastructure and structural this role youll perform inspections in a fabrication shop in Olean NY and contribute to the ongoing development of welding quality assurance processes at AEIS.

What Youll Do

Quality Assurance & Inspection

• Perform visual and destructive weld inspections to ensure compliance with AWS D1.1/D1.5 ASME and DOT standards.
• Monitor welding operations and ensure procedures and personnel are qualified.
• Identify and document weld defects and non-conformities.
• Conduct MT and UT inspections where certified.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate inspection records and generate professional reports using our proprietary software designed to report welding and NDT inspections.
• Verify and review WPSs PQRs and Welder Certifications.
• Contribute to quality documentation systems.

Collaboration & Process Improvement

• Work closely with project managers welding engineers and NDT staff.
• Participate in process optimization reviews and corrective action reports.

What Were Looking For

Must Haves

• AWS CWI Certification (Active)
• 110 years of hands-on structural welding inspection experience
• Strong communication skills in English (spoken & written)
• Basic math and technical documentation skills
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and construction plans
• Willingness to travel to fabrication shop in Olean NY

Bonus Points

• MT certification (Level II)
• Familiarity with ASME standards
• Experience working on DOT or public infrastructure projects

Salary Range: $45hr - $50/hr. This range is based on national market data and may vary widely by experience and location.
