Job Summary
The Vice Chair-Practice Administration serves as a senior administrative leader partnering closely with clinical leaders and the Associate Administrator(s) to provide strategic operational and governance oversight across complex clinical support and infrastructure domains. This role is accountablefor guiding Rochester and enterprise-level priorities spanning reprocessing and distribution services equipment and technology governance space activation and capital coordination and other high-impact operational may also span across the various CPC subcommittees (OPS HPS and S&P). The Vice Chair is expected to bring seasoned judgment strong execution capability and credibility in a physician-led committee-driven environmentoften stepping into leadership gaps where work is growing in scale complexity or cross-departmental dependence. Success in the role requires the ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on operational leadership; to mentor and support the development ofsenior administrators; to steward resources responsibly; and to proactively navigate ambiguity across institutional committees capitalplanningand external partnerships. Candidates shouldanticipatea role that demands broad systems thinking deep collaboration and sustained leadership presence to translate strategy into coordinated execution across the Rochester practice.
Qualifications
Masters degree in business health care administration or related field and five years healthcare management experience required. Minimum of three-five years of experience in Mayo Clinic Leadership preferably involving-inpatient and outpatient operational activities. Operational experience must include demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines (i.e. physician scientist administrative supervisory and allied health staff.) Must have demonstrated competencies in leadership management operations and communication. Outstanding broad-based experience in physician and senior leader interaction. Broad knowledge of healthcare industry and a basic knowledge of Mayo. Evidence of ability to provide visionary leadership. Evidence of strong analytical ability solid judgment and capacity to think strategically. Ability to understand the clinical operational nature of the Mayo practice (versus a solely financial perspective). High integrity as evidenced by broad valuing of all people and groups. Customer service oriented. Strong interpersonal skills self-confidence and high energy level. Demonstrated ability to manage within a physician led committee oriented environment. Accepts responsibility to lead and manage major institutional and departmental projects. Adheres to Mayo Clinic policies and procedures. Follows safe work practices. Adheres to Integrity program. FACHE certification preferred.
