In this role you will be instrumental in the Battery Cell Institute using your extensive skills to process and analyze large volumes of data. You will collaborate with diverse teams including Engineering Quality Control and VINFAST suppliers to create cutting-edge solutions that will drive the future of transportation.


  • Lead the design development and evaluation of new materials (anodes cathodes electrolytes separators) for battery applications of lithium-ion sodium-ion and solid state battery.
  • Collaborate with R&D teams academic partners and manufacturing units to transfer lab-scale innovations to production.
  • Conduct advanced material characterization using techniques such as SEM TEM XRD XPS Raman FTIR and EIS.
  • Transfer academic research findings into scalable technologies for commercial battery production.
  • Evaluate and improve material performance related to energy density cycle life thermal stability and safety.
  • Work closely with universities and research consortia on funded collaborative projects.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in battery materials publishing in journals or presenting at industry conferences.
  • Lead technology transfer projects for raw materials (e.g. cathode/anode active materials binders electrolytes solvents separators) from global suppliers to Vietnam-based manufacturers.
  • Contribute to intellectual property (IP) development including patents and technical documentation
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers interns.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Masters degree in Materials Science Chemistry Electrochemistry or a related field.
  • 10 years of combined experience in both academic and industrial battery R&D environments.
  • Deep knowledge of materials used in lithium-ion sodium-ion solid-state or other advanced battery chemistries.
  • Hands-on experience with technology transfer or localization projects especially involving cross-border collaboration.
  • Demonstrated track record of peer-reviewed publications and/or patents.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience in scale-up of battery materials or pilot-scale testing.
  • Prior collaboration with national labs or government-funded battery programs.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices and life-cycle analysis of battery materials.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams including engineers chemists and data scientists
