TPF Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a fast-growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Guildford that is looking to recruit an experienced Tax Manager to join its expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a multi-office firm with a strong presence across the South East offering a full suite of accountancy tax and advisory services to a broad and diverse client base including owner-managed businesses and private individuals.

The Role

As a Tax Manager you will take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients delivering both compliance and advisory services while also supporting the development of the wider tax team.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing a portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients with a focus on owner-managed businesses
  
• Delivering tax compliance work and handling client queries independently
  
• Providing advisory services across areas such as inheritance tax capital gains tax estate planning and R&D claims
  
• Preparing and reviewing tax computations and returns ensuring accuracy and compliance
  
• Reviewing work completed by junior team members and maintaining high technical standards
  
• Managing and developing a team including training mentoring and workload planning
  
• Overseeing deadlines workflow and project delivery across the tax function
  
• Liaising with senior leadership on client matters and technical issues
  
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and HMRC
  
• Supporting business development activities and networking with new and existing clients
  
• Managing budgets and multiple client projects effectively
  

Requirements

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will likely have:

• ATT qualified ideally CTA qualified
  
• Approximately 45 years experience within a tax role in an accountancy practice
  
• Strong personal tax experience with exposure to corporate tax and advisory work being advantageous
  
• Excellent technical knowledge of current UK tax legislation
  
• Proven experience reviewing work and managing or mentoring a team
  
• Strong communication skills with confidence dealing directly with clients and HMRC
  
• Experience using tax and accountancy software ideally IRIS or similar
  
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
