Job Summary

EduTalent Group are supporting a primary school in Deal who are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 SEMH support for a Key Stage 2 pupil in Year 5 with an immediate start available.

This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will join a supportive and inclusive primary setting working closely with a KS2 pupil who requires consistent emotional and behavioural support throughout the school day.

Job Description

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS2 (Year 5) pupil with SEMH needs
  • Support emotional regulation behaviour and engagement in learning
  • Build a trusting and consistent relationship with the pupil
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering accessible learning activities
  • Encourage positive behaviour and reinforce school routines
  • Support social development and independence skills
  • Help maintain a calm safe and inclusive classroom environment
  • Work closely with teaching staff and SEN leadership to follow individual support plans


Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people (SEN/SEMH experience desirable but not essential)
  • Calm patient and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to remain consistent and supportive in challenging situations
  • Team player with a proactive attitude
  • Genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
