Salary Range: $110000-$120000 annually

Background:
The Director(Transportation Engineering)works closely with the clienttechnicalprojectand creative teams to developimplementand supportcomprehensive communications strategiesand deliverables. These plans may include content development for both internal and external communicationsas well as education and training campaigns intended for diverse audiences using both traditional and emerging resources.
The Director(Transportation Engineering)plays a dual roleofstrategicthinkerand highly skilled technical bringnew ideasand fresh perspectivesto communicate highlytechnicalinformation while supporting the development of high-quality are an experienced project manager and willengage withmultipleinternalexternaland clientproject teamstocloselymonitordeliverables and track metrics for successful outcomes.
The Director(Transportation Engineering)works closely with clients to engage target audiences and educate them on project goals and ideal candidate is a strong writer and publicspeakerandis comfortable facilitating meetingswith a wide range of audiencesfromentry-level engineers totop-level executives.
Project managementexperience with transportationengineering and technical writing or editing ispreferred.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional client service and high-quality deliverables on time and on budget
Communicate regularly with project partners and clients via emailvirtualmeetingsandface-to-face interactionsto provide status updates and strategic guidance
Develop content designand editreportsabout the clients assets targeted towarda diverse group of stakeholdersincluding engineerslegislatorsand thepublic
Partner with clientsengineeringteams todeveloptechnical status updatepresentationsin a digestible format
Format criteria manuals and update clients website annually
Scheduleandfacilitatetechnical training sessions that educate internal and external stakeholders on best practicesprocessesand key engineering innovations
Leadoutreach for and execution of large-scale events and technical workshops forengineersandindustry partners
Provide strategic recommendations toclient oneventthemesmessagingandlogistics
Manage event planning advancepreparationand day-of-event execution
Measure attendee satisfaction and event impactand make recommendations for continuous improvement
Proactively manage project performance including budget timelineand client satisfaction and address issues to keep projects on track
Attend and manage in-person client events and functions

Job Qualifications:
8 years professional experience inproject management orcommunications for/within the transportationor engineeringindustries
Excellent written and verbal communication skills both on deliverables and with project partners
Ability to convey complex technical topics in a clear and concise manner
Ability to adjust communication style to appropriately meet the needs of a variety of audiences
Skilled at working with minimal supervision on high-profile projects
Experienced with budget management and tracking
Experience leading and supporting project teamswhile balancing multiple initiatives concurrently
Strong familiarity with transportationindustry and its best practices
Bachelors degreerequiredwith apreferentialfocusinengineering communicationsurbanplanningor related field
Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to client offices and events
Must be able to work onsite in Lisle IL a minimum of three daysper week
