Job Summary

AOI Operator

Hourly Salary Rate: $24.00-$25.00/hr 10% shift differential

Work Schedule: Swing Shift (2:30 PM-11:00 PM)


Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for operating Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment to ensure accurate component placement markings and overall quality of assembled printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  • Review AOI inspection results to ensure accurate component placement orientation and markings.
  • Perform manual inspection using microscopes or magnification tools when required.
  • Load and verify AOI programs according to work instructions and documentation.
  • Inspect populated printed circuit boards using magnification aids and microscopes to identify defects or nonconformances.
  • Identify defects (e.g. missing components misalignment solder issues)and escalate findings to Supervisor Lead or Engineering.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust AOI programs and optimize inspection performance to reduce false calls and escapes.
  • Support production activities to meet quality efficiency and output goals.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.


Job Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or skill in operating inspection or manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience operating Koh Young and YES TECH AOI system is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to read and understand assembly drawings work instructions component identification and component polarity.
  • Basic computer proficiency


Preferred Skills (Nice to have):

  • Experience with AOI programming or offline programming
  • Familiarity with SMT processes and common PCB defects
  • Knowledge of SPI/AXI inspection is a plus
