Prepare and cook meals according to established menus recipes and dietary guidelines
Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner for meal service periods
Follow proper food handling storage and sanitation procedures
Operate kitchen equipment safely including ovens grills steamers and fryers
Assist with menu planning and portion control as needed
Coordinate with food service staff to ensure smooth meal service
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen work area
Adhere to all safety infection control and health department regulations
Requirements
Requirements:
At least 1 year of cooking experience in a restaurant cafeteria healthcare facility or similar setting
Knowledge of food safety principles and proper cooking techniques
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
ServSafe certification preferred but not required (training available)
Must be available to work Monday Friday as scheduled
Required Skills:
Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Cleans work areas equipment utensils dishes and silverware. Cleans peels slices and trims foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances. Conducts or assists with food supply requisitions and sanitation and maintenance inspections cashiers with the cafeteria manager. Monitors the cash registers and cashiers breaks. Observes safety sanitation and health rules and standards. Portions food or places it directly on plates for service to facility residents employees or patrons and packages takeout foods.
