Job Summary

Position Summary

Focus Partners Wealth is seeking a motivated and qualified individual for the position of Tax Administrator.

Focus provides team members the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule. Our hybrid model is defined as 3 days in office work required per week while giving team members the option to work remotely 2 day per week or as assigned by their team leader.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the tax group to oversee their administrative functionsincluding weekly check-ins with the Tax Admin and St. Louis based tax team.
  • Coordinate tax work papers and tax return assembly & delivery (certified mailings FedEx USPS encrypted links/email & DocuSign) includes actively working with teams in other TCG tax offices.
  • Responsible for overall document organization including scanning and storage both physical & within document management system.
  • Communicate & coordinate receipt and delivery of tax organizers incoming/outgoing data returns tax payments & bills with clients tax team and advisors. Clear verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • Submit electronic filings and track acceptances through government software and tax tracking software database (CCH Workflow).
  • Manage and track notices including state and local tax notices.
  • Set up new returns print/export returns in tax software (CCH Axcess) as well as setup and management of tasks in tax tracking software (CCH Workflow) including: staffing assignments managing deliverables extensions etc.
  • Prepare reports/summaries monitor & review task status & workloads communicate progress with Manager Tax Administration & Sr. Director of Tax Operations.
  • Proactively identify trends work with the Manager Tax Administration & Sr. Director of Tax Operations to reassess staffing processes & procedures and priorities as needed to maintain efficiency especially during busy season.
  • Work closely with the Manager Tax Administration & Sr. Director of Tax Operations and the Tax Admin team to support incoming merger integrations training & development initiatives new technology implementation tax season prep & execution and other projects throughout the year.
  • Provide ad hoc support to Tax Advisory & Tax Admin teams nationwide on an as needed basis.
  • Provide occasional backup administrative support in St. Louis office as needed including: mail distribution answering phone calls scanning documents and greeting visitors.

* (in person January-April & September-October w/ option to grow into a hybrid (2-3 days in office/week) role May-August & November-December.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a Tax Admin/Tax Ops type role.
  • Great communication skills both verbal & written.
  • Comfortable working with various people on short-term and long-term projects.
  • Degree preferred.

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be $60000-$70000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience subject matter expertise geographic location where work will be performed and the applicants skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
