Key Responsibilities
Inspect vehicles and parts to determine preparation requirements
Wash clean and degrease surfaces prior to sanding
Sand and feather-edge panels to create smooth surfaces
Repair minor surface imperfections (chips scratches dents rust spots)
Mask and tape vehicles to protect non-painted areas
Mix and apply primers and sealers
Remove dust debris and contaminants before paint application
Maintain paint prep tools and equipment
Follow safety procedures and OSHA regulations
Keep work area clean and organized
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED (preferred)
12 years of automotive body or paint prep experience (preferred)
Knowledge of sanding techniques masking and surface preparation
Familiarity with primers sealers and basic paint materials
Ability to operate sanding tools grinders and spray equipment
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Good hand-eye coordination
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Required Skills:
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 3 years of customer service or related experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Valid drivers license with a clean driving record. Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software. Preferred Qualifications Associates or Bachelors degree in a related field. Automotive industry experience. Body shop experience. Bilingual.
