Our growing consumer products client is seeking a Senior Cost Analyst to assist with the daily and monthly operations of inventory accounting and related month-end close processes. Reporting to the Accounting Manager the Senior Cost Analyst will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Manage all aspects of inventory including gross margin and product line analysis and related reserves; inventory reconciliation reserves and variance & COGS analysis
Collaborate extensively with cross functioning departments to optimize inventory levels and provide analysis for process improvement and identify opportunities for greater revenue flows
Oversee the daily and monthly cost accounting operations and to ensure GAAP compliance and cost accounting procedures
Participate in the month-end close duties including journal entries COGS and inventory reserve & reconciliation intercompany and consolidation entries and financial analysis
Assist with special ad-hoc projects as needed
The qualified Senior Cost Analyst will possess:
A Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
At least 4 years of experience in G/L accounting with solid exposure to cost accounting and GAAP
Excellent analytical skills and cross functional collaboration abilities
Solid Excel skills such as pivot tables and V-lookups
Prior experience with Oracle is preferred but no required
Excellent communication (both verbal and written) organizational problem-solving and decision-making skills
This opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement with 2 days remote and 3 days in-office.
