Job Summary
Our growing consumer products client is seeking a Senior Cost Analyst to assist with the daily and monthly operations of inventory accounting and related month-end close processes. Reporting to the Accounting Manager the Senior Cost Analyst will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Manage all aspects of inventory including gross margin and product line analysis and related reserves; inventory reconciliation reserves and variance & COGS analysis
- Collaborate extensively with cross functioning departments to optimize inventory levels and provide analysis for process improvement and identify opportunities for greater revenue flows
- Oversee the daily and monthly cost accounting operations and to ensure GAAP compliance and cost accounting procedures
- Participate in the month-end close duties including journal entries COGS and inventory reserve & reconciliation intercompany and consolidation entries and financial analysis
- Assist with special ad-hoc projects as needed
The qualified Senior Cost Analyst will possess:
- A Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least 4 years of experience in G/L accounting with solid exposure to cost accounting and GAAP
- Excellent analytical skills and cross functional collaboration abilities
- Solid Excel skills such as pivot tables and V-lookups
- Prior experience with Oracle is preferred but no required
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) organizational problem-solving and decision-making skills
