After School Program Instructor (Part Time)

Safe Passages After School Program provides high-quality enrichment and academic support across OUSD school sites using a strong youth development framework.
Primary Responsibilities
The After-School Program Instructor will be part of an after-school team dedicated to providing high quality programming to youth and their families. The After School Program Instructor will facilitate activities for students in a structured and supportive environment. After School Program Instructors sessions will be delivered in person. The After-School Program Instructor will be supervised by Safe Passages After School Program Site Coordinator and the After School Program Specialists.
Responsibilities:
- Ensureprogramsafety by implementing and enforcingallSchool Site and Safe Passagespolicies.
- Develop and instruct enrichment activities for youth withinsocial emotional learning S.T.E.A.M health and fitness youth leadership and social justice.
- Complete weekly lesson plans to be submitted via Google Classroom.
- Prepare students for performances or presentations at showcases and family events.
- Provide youth development best practices monitor student progress and collect surveys as appropriate.
- Participate in weekly collaborative staff meetings and trainings. Agency-wide professional developments quarterly.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated children and youth instructions and facilitation experience (volunteer/paid) working in an urban K-12 environment.
- Ability to work with children youth families and staff from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities.
- Bilingual applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Classroom management skills.
- Ability to develop and implement weekly lesson plans.
- Strong Communication skills
- Demonstrated experience working on a team.
- Experience using Microsoft Offices and Google Suites.
- Quarterly professional development will be provided.
- Must be dedicated and able to commit to the entire school year. No exceptions.
- Must have a High School Diploma.
- At least 48 semester units from an accredited college or passing grade on Instructional Aid.
- Clearance of TB test and background (fingerprint) check.
Employment Classification: This is a part-time hourly position. The position does not include medical dental or vision benefits.
Work Schedule:14-25 hours per week M-F; based on OUSD academic calendar (holidays and teacher professional developments). Must be available all days of the week.
Candidates must be available for the complete school year.
Compensation:$22 - $25 per hour/paid weekly depending on education experience and references.
