Position Overview
Endurance IT Services is seeking an experienced Server Engineer to design build and support enterprise server environments that power business-critical systems for a client in Newport News! This role focuses on server infrastructure virtualization storage and performance working closely with networking security and cloud teams to ensure reliability scalability and security.
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in both technical work and strategic infrastructure improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design deploy and maintain Windows and/or Linux server environments
- Manage virtualization platforms (VMware)
- Administer and optimize server storage solutions (SAN / NAS)
- Perform system upgrades patching and lifecycle management
- Monitor server performance availability and capacity
- Troubleshoot complex server and storage issues across environments
- Implement backup disaster recovery and business continuity solutions
- Collaborate with network cloud and security teams on infrastructure projects
- Document system configurations procedures and architecture
- Support onprem hybrid and cloud-integrated infrastructure environments
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of experience supporting enterprise server infrastructure
- Strong experience with Windows Server and/or Linux
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies
- Solid understanding of storage concepts (RAID SAN NAS snapshots)
- Familiarity with Active Directory DNS DHCP
- Experience with system monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
