About the Opportunity
On behalf of our client we are hiring a Physical Design Leader to support their expanding semiconductor design team in Da Nang. Our client is a leading technology-driven organization with operations across Singapore and Vietnam focusing on innovative solutions for information security applications.
Joining the team as a Physical Design Leader you will define the long-term vision for physical design infrastructure and technical strategy. You will provide strategic direction to the team overseeing complex RTL-to-GDSII implementations to ensure the timely delivery of high-performance SoCs.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the full RTL-to-GDSII implementation lifecycle including synthesis power grid design clock tree synthesis and physical verification (DRC/LVS).
Manage and scale the physical design organization including team structure hiring performance management and talent development.
Lead cross-functional collaboration with design teams to influence architectural decisions and resolve technical conflicts effectively.
Drive the adoption of next-generation methodologies and automation flows to maximize productivity and design quality.
Represent the physical design function in executive-level strategic discussions regarding technology and product roadmaps.
Mentor engineering talent to foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical innovation.
Job Requirements
Technical skills:
Bachelors Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or a related technical field.
At least 7 years of experience in back-end physical design and verification with a proven track record in leadership roles.
Extensive experience leading complex SoC projects through successful tape-outs under tight deadlines.
Expertise in hierarchical physical design strategies and the challenges associated with advanced process nodes.
Deep knowledge of modern EDA tools ASIC design flows and foundry design technologies.
Highly proficient in automation using Tcl Python Makefile or Perl.
Familiarity with AI/ML-driven optimization in design tools is considered a plus.
Soft skills:
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Strategic leadership capabilities with a focus on mentoring and talent retention.
Strong project management skills including the ability to manage schedules resources and risks.
