We are currently hiring a Director of Nursing (DON) for a well-established Nursing Home located in Co. Galway and other locations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the care and nursing staff including orientation training and ongoing development.
- Supervise the admission process for new residents.
- Drive change and improvement initiatives particularly aligned with HIQA standards.
- Promote innovation and leadership across all aspects of care delivery.
- Participate in resident handovers and ensure clear consistent communication among staff.
- Oversee the planning and implementation of care to meet residents holistic needs.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for residents visitors and staff.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience in a senior nursing management role in elder care (within the last 6 years).
- Post-registration management qualification.
- Active registration with NMBI.
- Proven leadership clinical and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of Health Act 2007 and HIQA standards.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Additional training in gerontology is a plus.

Minimum 3 years experience in a senior nursing management role in elder care (within the last 6 years). Post-registration management qualification. Active registration with NMBI. Additional training in gerontology is a plus.
