Centre for Sexuality is a nationally recognized community-based organization delivering programs and services to normalize sexuality and sexual health across an individuals lifespan. We have been leading the way in the areas of sexuality healthy relationships human rights gender identity sexual orientation equality and consent for over 50 years. Sexual well-being for all is at the core of what we do. We teach we train and we advocate to support healthy bodies healthy relationships and healthy communities. We provide education training and counselling for anyone who needs support related to these topics.
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Curriculum Developer to join our team on a one-year full-time contract. This role will lead the refinement and finalization of the WiseGirlz Junior High and Boys Program elementary curricula following the pilot year using feedback from facilitators partners and program evaluations.
The Curriculum Developer will also support revisions and new content development across existing programs including elementary girls programming resources for parents and natural supports and 2SLGBTQ healthy relationships programming.
In this role you will design engaging age-appropriate and trauma-informed curriculum materials that promote gender equity mental wellness positive relationships and social-emotional development.
As our successful candidate you will:
Curriculum Development
- Collaborate with managers subject matter experts and facilitators to ensure curriculum alignment with organizational and program goals.
- Utilizing pilot program data and feedback update and refine comprehensive curriculums for:
- Grade 4 5 and 6 Boys and Girls Programs
- WiseGirlz Junior High Program
- Supplementary resources for parents and caregivers
- 2SLGBTQ Healthy Relationships program
- Adapt and develop curricula aligned with Alberta Education outcomes.
- Develop facilitation manuals PowerPoint presentations handouts and interactive activities.
- Incorporate cultural adaptations for WiseGirlz and Boys Programs particularly for Indigenous communities in Treaty 7.
- Collaborate with internal subject matter experts and reference grey and academic literature to ensure curriculum quality and relevance.
- Support with other curriculum projects as needed.
Facilitator Training and Pilot Support
- Design and implement pilot training processes for C4S facilitators delivering new curricula.
- Provide technical assistance and feedback during pilots.
- Stay current on best practices in curriculum design learning technologies and instructional methodologies.
- Build capacity through mentoring coaching and training of staff and partners.
Work Plan Management and Reporting:
- Develop and maintain a detailed work plan to complete all deliverables within the contract period.
- Track milestones and adjust strategies to ensure timely completion.
- Provide regular progress updates to your manager.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to share insights challenges and successes.
Quality Assurance and documentation:
- Ensure all curriculum materials are accurate inclusive and evidence informed.
- Collect and integrate feedback for iterative improvements.
- Maintain clear and organized documentation of the curriculum development process including revisions rationale and chain of approval.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g. Education Social Sciences Health Instructional Design).
- Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in curriculum development or instructional design.
- Proven success in designing and implementing curriculum in both in-person and digital formats.
- Strong understanding of transformational and experiential learning principles.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinker with creative problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools.
- Alignment with C4Ss core values of Social Justice/Feminism Prevention Collaboration and Curiosity.
Compensation and Work Environment:
- Salary range $70000-$75000 annually.
