Temporary Full-Time Position
Start Date: May 11th 2026
End Date: August 28th 2026
Hours: 35 hrs per week
Salary: $18.10 - $21.55/hr
Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the Economic Development Manager and accountable to the Economic Development Administrator / Communications Support the position will provide general office administrative support to the Economic Development Office. The department is launching new digital platforms websites CRM system and eNewsletter - where needed the position will support the transition of these platforms and assist with any research content development and data entry required.
Qualifications:
- Meet the eligibility criteria established by the Canada Summer Jobs Program;
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- be a Canadian citizen permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with the relevant provincial legislation and regulations.
- Experience in customer service research digital marketing and public relations with a high degree of communications skills.
- Excellent computer software knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office social media and web platforms and CRM. Experience in Zoho would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated organization skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Knowledge of the Leeds Grenville region including municipalities history and businesses.
- Self-motivated and self-sufficient. Work within an office environment both independently (with minimal supervision) and within a team organizational model.
- A valid and current drivers license and use of a vehicle are required.
- Additional languages are considered an asset.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional visitor / client information services through various communication tools.
- Respond to visitor online enquiries and develop visitor itineraries that will enhance the visitors stay. Provide directions and reservation assistance.
- Assist in updating and maintaining regional business directory.
- Create support and coordinate / schedule content images and photography for multiple websites and social media.
- Provide administrative support to the Economic Development Office.
- Develop and maintain extensive knowledge on the region and support economic development projects.
- Support promotion and marketing plans for the Counties Economic Development and Small Business and Tourism through various digital technology tools including website social media video etc.
- Support distribution of promotional materials.
- Attend meetings as part of the Leeds Grenville Economic Development and Clerks Office teams.
- Ensuring a high level of respect for confidentiality for both the organization as a whole and staff as per the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
- Other related assigned duties as requested and required.
