At our Sumas Reload facility we transload steel and other building materials from rail truck and containers. We provide custom handling inventory management and other services. We are a small but mighty division and backed by an organization that employs over 1300 people. We are looking for aShipping and Receiving Coordinatorto join us and become part of the Arrow team in Sumas Washington.

Under the direction of the Division Manager the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator ensurestheseamlessaccurateand efficientflow and coordinationof incoming and outgoing shipments and items. Specializing in both inbound and outbound truck and rail freight this role requires strong inventory management controla high levelof organization and attention to detailand positive relations with internal and external customers and vendors.This role plays a pivotal part in ourlogisticsoperations ensuring the seamless movement of products through our yard and various transportation channels.

Responsibilities

General

  • Work in conjunction with the Operations Supervisor for scheduling/coordination of any inbound received or outbound deliveries of containers railcars trucks
  • Operate highcapacity forklifts to safely load unload move and stage commodities with capacities ranging from 23000 lbs to 30000 lbs.

Inbound Freight Coordination

  • Accurately receive inspect and document incoming truck and rail freight shipments
  • Track inbound shipments on railcars or trucks and work with the Operations Supervisor on strategic forecasting and planning
  • Coordinate with carriers and suppliers to schedule deliveries and ensuretimely receipt of goods
  • Work closely with theyard orwarehouse team to organize and store incoming products efficiently
  • Manage documentation including bills of lading customs paperwork and other relevant shipping documents

Outbound Freight Coordination

  • Accurately prepare and process shipping documentation for outbound truck and rail freight (Truck or Rail Bills of Lading Arrows and or Customer documentation requirements)
  • Coordinate with carriers(truck and rail)to schedule pickups andoptimize transportation routes
  • Ensureaccurateandtimely dispatch of products to customers or other destinations
  • Monitor and track outbound shipments providing updates to internal teams and customers

Inventory Management

  • Implement andmaintaininvoicing procedures and controls to ensureaccurateandappropriate inventorylevels at all timesusing Arrowsapplicablesystems and technology
  • Work in conjunction with the Operations Supervisor fortimelyandaccuratedaily/weekly/monthly inventory counts dependent on customer requirements and reconcilesame with inbound and outbound shipping information
  • Ensure product inventory is moved as per customerrequirementsi.e. FIFO for lumber
  • Report any issues with respect to inventory age and/or integrity

Communication and Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively with carriers suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
  • Collaborate with various departments includingyardofficestaffand customers to meet customer requirements
  • Address and resolve shipping-related inquiries and issues promptly
  • Communicate with the customers and ensure all proof of deliveriesare scanned and emailed
  • Relay all completed shipments information of inbound/outboundreceiving to the administrator
  • Report any discrepancies or gaps in service to the supervisor

Other Responsibilities

  • Problemsolvefor cases of missing documents shipments deliveries inventory outagesetc.
  • Workin accordance withall Arrowsafety and other applicable regulatory policies and procedures
  • Work with the Operations Supervisor with respect to daily/weekly forecasts as well asmaintaining asset/equipment control
  • Other duties as assigned by the Division Manager

You Possess

  • Preference will be given to those withrelevant post-secondaryeducation and/or relevant transportation industry experience
  • Preference will be given to those that have experience coordinating inbound and outbound truck and rail shipments
  • Previous highcapacity forklift operating experience (lbs) is considered an asset; however candidates who are willing and able to be trained will be considered.
