A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer (Development Approvals) within the Infrastructure Planning Team in the Environment and Transport Department.

We are looking for someone to leadon the technical approval of third-party highways and transportation schemes through the development process and to provide expert highway engineering advice as part of the authoritys responses to planning authority consultations foroffsite highway works.

About the Role

This role will involve working alongside colleagues in the Development Approvals team providing technical expertise on adoptable highway infrastructure to ensure they meet current standards whilst facilitating development and encouraging economic growth.

You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have experience of managing your own workload and working to deadlines.

You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.

About You

To apply for this post you must:

  • A degree in an appropriate subject or equivalent qualification (e.g. BTEC Higher in Civil Engineering) plus demonstrable experience as identified below.
  • Working at a senior level developing and project managing significant civil engineering projects and works programmes including technical approvals of highway infrastructure works and associated legal agreements preliminary and detailed design.
  • Collaborative working with customers and key stakeholders to deliver and outcomes.
  • Interpreting and writing technical and non-technical reports and providing technical advice based on relevant guidance and standards; DMRB Leicestershire Highway Design Guide (LHDG) Manual for Streets LTN 1/20 etc.
  • Have excellent communication and presentation skills including being able to provide relevant concise writtenadvice and negotiate successful outcomes
  • Be able to work to tight timescales and to agreed targets
