Were looking for an experienced motivated Safety Advisor who thrives in the field leads by example and is passionate about making real impact on active worksites. If you enjoy being handson working alongside crews and turning safety principles into daily practice this role is for you.

Your Role & Impact

As a Safety Advisor youll be at the heart of our operationssupporting crews collaborating with project teams and advancing a proactive engaged safety culture across our projects. Youll provide onsite leadership coach safe work behaviours and ensure regulatory and COR compliance while supporting the safe and successful execution of our work.

This role blends planning people and presence in the field offering you the opportunity to influence safety where it truly matters.

What Youll Do

Lead Safety Where the Work Happens

  • Support and continuously improve VanPiles HSE programs procedures and initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC BCCSA COR company standards and projectspecific requirements
  • Develop and maintain safety documentation including project safety plans hazard assessments and safe work plans

Be a Trusted Safety Partner on Site

  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety observations
  • Identify hazards assess risks and work with teams to implement practical controls
  • Provide handson coaching and guidance to crews and supervisors
  • Support the planning and execution of new and highrisk work activities

Engage Educate & Empower

  • Deliver site orientations toolbox talks and safety meetings
  • Actively promote a positive collaborative safety culture where everyone is involved and accountable

Investigate Learn & Improve

  • Assist with incident nearmiss and hazard investigations including root cause analysis
  • Prepare clear reports and recommend corrective and preventative actions
  • Track and analyze safety metrics reporting trends and insights to leadership

Collaborate Across Teams

  • Serve as a key point of contact for safetyrelated concerns on site
  • Communicate issues that may impact schedule cost or operations
  • Work closely with project teams HSE professionals and subcontractors to resolve safety challenges

What You Bring

  • 710 years of handson field safety experience ideally in marine heavy civil or industrial construction
  • Postsecondary education or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and construction safety practices
  • Experience working within a CORcertified safety management system

  • Comfortable working in fastpaced changing project environments
  • Willing to work shifts nonstandard hours and travel as required
  • Valid drivers license and reliable personal vehicle

Certifications (Preferred or Required)

  • Safety designation such as CRSP RCSO CHSC or actively working toward certification
  • Occupational First Aid Level 1 or 3 (or willingness to obtain)
  • BCCSA COR internal auditor experience is an asset

Salary: $90 - $120k per annum

The actual salary offered to the successful candidate will be determined based on jobrelated factors including relevant experience years of experience qualifications internal equity and Carlson Construction Groups compensation policy.
