Overview

In Business since 1919 and still growing Arrow is a leader in bulk commodity hauling reload operations freight management logistics consulting and technology with operations throughout Canada and the U.S.

We are looking for certified Truck and Transport Mechanicto join us and become part of our Arrow family in Edmonton Alberta. As an Arrow mechanic you will perform skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of tractors trailers and mobile equipment. We have a very well maintained shop environment!

  • Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuriesin a timely mannerto the supervisorin order tofacilitateprompt correction or reporting
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
  • Provide routine maintenanceon tractors trailers and mobile equipment such as forklifts and loaders
  • Check all equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment todetect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose defects inall equipment
  • Diagnose any faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment todetermineextent of repair that is
  • Perform incidental weldingrepairson equipment
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations decrease turnaround times streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
  • Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when
  • Operate automotive servicing equipment e.g. A/C recycler etc.
  • Ability tooperatethe equipment that is serviced i.e. bring truckstrailersand mobile equipment in and out of the shop.May require a Class 1 driving license
  • Installation of new and added-on equipment
  • Electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting diagnostics and repair
  • Ability toeffectively and efficiently prioritize daily work
  • Repair cooling and lubrication systems
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical transmissionsdrive-trainsand final drives
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Clean lubricate andperform other maintenance work
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Accurate completion of work orders andtime cards
  • Keep detailed andaccuratemaintenance reports and documentation
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques
  • Complying withall rules and regulationsprotocolsand established metrics
  • Follow all workplace safety policies and compliance regulationsparticipateinidentifyinghazards
  • Abilityto understand cross trainingon all functions at facility
  • Other mechanical repair work as
  • Accurate completion of work orders andtime cards
  • Keep detailed andaccuratemaintenance reports and documentation
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques

  • You Possess

    • Must hold a valid Journeymans Certification or Red Seal endorsement
    • Proven mechanical aptitude with demonstrated experience in hydraulics and electrical systems including schematics interpretation and diagnostics
    • Experience performing routine maintenance and repair operations
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Demonstrates strong initiative and the ability to work independently as a self-starter
    • Able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong work ethic with a positive team-oriented attitude
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Highly flexible with strong interpersonal skills capable of working effectively in a diverse environment
    • Ability to interact with others in a sensitive tactful diplomatic and professional manner at all times
    • Computer literate
    • English language proficiency required (reading writing and speaking)
    • Possession of a valid drivers license with a current drivers abstract
