As the Financial Analyst Financial Reporting you will serve as MSFs key accounting expert ensuring the accuracy integrity and transparency of our financial statements. Your work directly supports MSFs financial stewardship and long-term stability helping us fulfill our mission to protect Montanas workforce. This is a role for someone who thrives on precision analytical depth and cross-functional collaboration. You will coordinate MSFs financial reporting processes oversee the general ledger and accounting structure and provide strategic insights that inform organizational decision-making. What you will do:
- Financial Reporting: Coordinate and oversee MSFs quarterly financial reporting process to produce timely and accurate financial statements and accompanying reports on both a statutory and GASB accounting basis. Oversee MSFs accounting structure general ledger and financial internal controls with a goal of continuous improvement.
- Management Reporting: Prepare internal financial projections financial statement narratives and presentations for use by MSF management and MSFs Board of Directors.
- Audit Support: Coordinate the completion of annual independent financial statement audits on both statutory andGASB accounting bases.
- Strategic Financial Analysis: Employ a strategic mindset to identify insights regarding MSFs financial condition trends and developments and long-term trajectory. Participate on cross-functional teams as financial subject matter expert as needed.
- Finance & Actuary Team Participation: Foster engagement within yourself and the Finance & Actuary team. Promote a customer experience mindset. Provide advice and mentorship to other members of the team. Review and approve the work of other members of the team as needed
Required Experience
What you will need (minimum qualifications):
- Bachelors degree in business administration finance accounting or a related field.
- Three (3) years professional work experience in accounting or financial reporting.
- Ability to effectively use technology and digital tools to perform work tasks solve problems and communicate i.e. digital competency.
Preferred:
- CPA designation
- Experience within the insurance industry.
- Experience performing technical accounting research.
Job location:
This position requires primarily on-site presence in the Helena MT office but is open to supporting a hybrid work arrangement.
Working conditions:
Fast paced general office environment. Some stress may occur. Requires sitting for extended periods of time standing visual acumen manual dexterity detailed verbal communications and fine finger manipulation for working with computer keyboards.
Compensation and Benefits: Starting salary for this Exempt position begins at $80700-$100800 per year.
