Requirements:
Specialty: Medical Assistant
Licensure:
- Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate & be a graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by (One of the following):
- Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
- Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Technologists
- Formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces OR other formal program approved by the MTF
Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) hands on certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Experience: Possess a minimum of one (1) year experience as a Medical Assistant within the last three (3) years all ages.
Schedule:Sunday through Saturday between 0645 and 1900- depending on clinic location
Duties:
- Perform basic waived testing to include screening tests
- Prepare specimens for transport
- Perform laboratory testing according to established laboratory procedures.
- Comply with infection control guidelines to include the proper handling storage and disposal of infectious wastes and the use of universal precautions to prevent the spread of infection.
- Per the Family Advocacy Program provide appropriate medical examination documentation and reporting.
- Attend and/or comply with all annual training required to include but not limited to online annual training: disaster training infection control Sexual Harassment Bloodborne Pathogens Fire and Safety Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE)
- Provide accurate and concise documentation of patient care.
- Operate automated systems such as MHS Genesis and Clinical Information System (CIS)
