Position Summary
The Curriculum and Instruction Coordinator leads the design implementation and continuous improvement of
instructional systems that enable teachers to deliver high-quality competency-based instruction. This role
ensures that all curriculum instructional tools and coaching practices directly support teachers in meeting their
goals.


The Coordinator works in close partnership with teachers and school leadership to ensure that curriculum is
usable aligned and responsive to scholar needs. Through coaching structured collaboration and system
development the Coordinator ensures that teachers are equipped to provide rigorous relationship-centered
and mastery-based instruction that leads to improved scholar outcomes.


This role is responsible for creating a clear connection between curriculum design instructional practice teacher
development and scholar success.

Minimum Requirements:
NM Level III Instructional Leader licensure with highly effective or above (or equivalent) evaluations for
the past 3 years
Demonstrated experience in instructional leadership (e.g. coaching PLC facilitation or leading
schoolwide initiatives)
Experience designing and implementing standards-aligned secondary curriculum

Strong ability to analyze instruction and provide clear actionable feedback to adult learners
Ability to work effectively in a non-traditional at-risk or alternative school setting with a traumaresponsive approach
High level of proficiency with instructional technology and digital learning platforms
Proven ability to coach teachers in assessing and helping scholars address social/emotional as well as
academic needs
Proven ability to respond to the needs of students with varying abilities and cultural backgrounds
Extensive knowledge of accommodation and modification best practices for working with students with
disabilities to support IEP goals
Preferred Requirements:
Advanced degree in curriculum instruction or educational leadership
Demonstrated proficiency with Canvas LMS including course design module structure and aligned
assessments
Experience developing or applying curriculum quality standards or instructional rubrics
Bilingual English/Spanish


Job Duties Include but Are Not Limited To:


Curriculum Design & Quality Assurance
Develop and maintain clear practical curriculum structures that teachers use to plan and deliver
instruction
Ensure all curriculum is aligned to standards competencies and assessment expectations outlined in
the teacher role
Support teachers in designing and refining curriculum in Canvas ensuring it is organized accessible and
instructionally strong
Provide timely actionable feedback on curriculum to improve rigor alignment and usability
Ensure curriculum supports differentiation accommodations and culturally responsive practices
Partner with external support (e.g. Canvas/Instructure) to strengthen systems that teachers rely on
daily

Instructional Leadership & Coaching

Coach teachers in implementing high-quality instruction including competency-based learning
differentiation and performance-based assessment
Support teachers in translating evaluation feedback into concrete improvements in planning
instruction and classroom practice
Align coaching and professional learning to the instructional expectations defined in the teacher role
Facilitate structured PLCs that result in strong instructional plans shared curriculum and improved
teaching practice
Model effective instructional strategies and support teachers in applying them in the classroom
Monitor teacher progress and adjust coaching to ensure measurable improvement in practice
Instructional Systems & Implementation
Ensure consistent and effective use of the schools instructional technology ecosystem with Canvas as
the central platform
Align curriculum and instructional tools (IXL Edmentum Nearpod etc.) to support student learning
goals
Develop and maintain systems for organizing accessing and continuously improving curriculum across
the school
Monitor implementation across classrooms and address inconsistencies to ensure all scholars have
access to high-quality instruction


Data-Driven Improvement
Establish systems that help teachers effectively use student data to inform instruction and meet growth
targets
Analyze schoolwide data to identify instructional trends and prioritize coaching and curriculum
improvements
Ensure teacher practices align with expectations for progress monitoring grading and reporting
Support teachers in using both academic and social-emotional data to meet student needs
Professional Culture & Collaboration
Model and reinforce ABQCAs Staff Culture Expectations in all interactions and systems

Facilitate collaboration that is focused respectful and grounded in student outcomes
Establish clear expectations for team productivity follow-through and quality of work
Address challenges in team dynamics directly and constructively maintaining focus on shared goals
Hold self and others accountable to commitments timelines and professional standards


Additional Responsibilities
Collaborate with school leadership on instructional priorities redesign efforts and continuous
improvement planning
Analyze student learning data to inform curriculum and instructional decisions
Support alignment between curriculum instructional practices and graduation readiness goals
Act as the schools testing coordinator to facilitate the administration of all state-mandated testing
Other duties as assigned
