Job Summary
The Division of Cardiology Department of Medicine University of Washington School of Medicine and UW Heart Institute is seeking a full-time (100% FTE) Assistant Associate or full Professor on the Clinical Practice Track at Harborview Medical Center. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UWs Faculty Code Section 24-34. The initial appointment period will be three years at a minimum with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure. Full-/part-time status is negotiable. The anticipated start date will July 1 2026 or after.
Harborview Medical Center has a newly built cardiac procedure room with the ability to perform full spectrum coronary intervention using state-of-the-art imaging physiology lesion modification and mechanical circulatory support. Harborview is one of the nations leading academic medical centers with a commitment to excellence in clinical care education and cardiovascular research and is the only Level 1 trauma center in the 5-state WWAMI region (Washington Wyoming Alaska Montana and Idaho). The Harborview Cardiology service maintains a close relationship with Medic One and has been rapidly growing with an expanded inpatient service electrophysiology team and recently renovated clinic with views of Puget Sound.
The successful candidate will perform interventional procedures in the catheterization lab at Harborview Medical Center. They will see patients in the outpatient clinic and rotate on the inpatient service at Harborview. Echocardiography reading is possible if desired. The teaching activities of this position will include didactic teaching and hands-on procedural teaching in the catheterization lab to cardiology and interventional fellows. Additional opportunities in quality improvement clinical research and community outreach may be available. They will report to the Cardiology Service Chief at Harborview Medical Center and the Interventional Cardiology Section Head for the Division of Cardiology.

The base salary range for this position will be $20000-$41667 per month commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may include an administrative salary supplement (ADS) and incentive through UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan.

Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified/eligible in interventional cardiology (or foreign equivalent) and must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington. The individual must have strong interpersonal skills necessary to build referral relationships throughout King Pierce and Snohomish order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
