The Engineer Electrical designs functional reliable and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle electrical systems. Performs engineering analysis and electrical design or re-design and development of electrical systems and subsystems into existing and new vehicles.

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Under close supervision perform basic engineering calculations investigations and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.

  • Support Senior Engineers in the preparation of basic plans designs computation methods and/or reporting.

  • Under close supervision works on projects of limited complexity in a support role.

  • Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.

  • Under close supervision design electrical parts and components to correct parameters and specifications while incorporating quality cost reliability and ease of manufacturing.

  • Support Senior Engineers with basic and accurate calculations analysis and investigation according to Oshkosh as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.

  • Provide technical assistance for prototype pilot or production builds including resolution of problems in manufacturing.

  • Process engineering information through change notices change proposals and the creation of thorough print documentation.

  • Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field with Internship experience or six (6) months or more related work experience.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Familiarity with programming languages and controls software.

  • Familiarity with Controller Area Network (CAN)/SAE J1939 and/or Vehicle Networking.

  • Automotive/Heavy Equipment Repair or Design Experience.

  • Wire Harness design experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The followingrepresentsgeneral working conditions for this role. Specific conditions may vary depending on business needs and individual circumstances.

  • This role combines office-based administrative duties with physical activity in field or production environments.

  • In the office setting tasks may require extended computer use sitting and attending meetings.

  • Field or floor work may involve walking across various terrains or shop floors standing moderate lifting (up to50pounds) climbing stairs and exposure to varying temperatures or noise levels.

  • Must be able to shift focus between detailed cognitive work and occasional physical tasks as needed.

Pay Range:

$64500.00 - $103500.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range individual pay is determined by various factors including the scope and responsibilities of the role the candidates experience education and skills as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
