Job Summary
Material Handler
Summary:
Supports conveying fabrication and sprocket manufacturing by keeping materials stocked removing scrap and trash and maintaining efficient production flow.
Schedule: Monday Thursday Hours: 5:00AM-3:30PM
Hourly Range: $20 - $22/hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver raw materials components and consumables to workstations.
- Remove scrap metal trash empty bins and packaging waste from all departments.
- Move WIP and finished parts between fabrication machining assembly and shipping.
- Replenish welding wire hardware grinding discs lubricants and packaging supplies.
- Maintain pointofuse inventory and communicate shortages.
- Operate forklifts pallet jacks carts and overhead cranes safely.
- Support 6S and maintain clean organized work areas.
Qualifications:
- Manufacturing or material handling experience preferred.
- Ability to lift 4050 lbs and walk/stand for extended periods.
- Forklift and/or crane certification (or ability to become certified).
- Strong safety awareness and communication skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced production areas and prioritize material needs.
- Basic understanding of fabrication machining or assembly is a plus.
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 13 years warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and up to 25 lbs. frequently to constantly work in a shop/production environment.
Preferred
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 6S practices.
- Must be able to constantly stand or sit for long periods of time as necessary in the work area.
