Erie Family Health Centers a nationally recognized top workplace with 14 sites in Chicago and suburbs is looking for a valuable addition to our Community Engagement team! The Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC) is responsible for working with Eries corporate Associate Director of Community Engagement to develop and implement a community outreach plan to maintain and deepen Eries community ties in Garfield Park in alignment with organizational priorities and the local Community Engagement Plan. The CEC will be the face of Erie Family Health Centers in the Garfield Park community at the grassroots level. Their focus will be serving as Eries liaison and ambassador within the Sankofa Wellness Village building relationships with community partners and residents while representing Erie at events and initiatives. This role will support patient growth connect community members to services and strengthen Eries presence in the West Side wellness ecosystem.
*The person holding this position may be required to work irregular hours including nights weekends and holidays as necessary to complete assigned duties and responsibilities.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a community engagement plan for Erie in Garfield Park that aligns with the organizations Community Engagement Plan and other organizational priorities.
- Identify key community stakeholders and collaborate with Erie colleagues to ensure these relationships are consistently and appropriately staffed.
- Identify and develop relationships with staff from peer service providers to ensure that partner organizations are aware of Eries services and that Erie staff and patients are aware of other health and human services/resources.
- Plan and manage outreach events in West Side communities including logistics vendors registration itineraries and promotional materials.
- Utilize technology and tools to track engagement efforts and support reporting of outcome goals and metrics.
- Represent Erie externally at meetings and events provide relevant information and appropriate follow-up and serve as an advocate for Eries mission and the needs of our patients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
Required:
- High school degree or equivalent required with three (3) years of community organizing experience; OR
- Associates degree or or two years of college with two (2) years of community organizing experience; OR
- Bachelors degree from a 4-year accredited college or university with one (1) year of community organizing experience
Experience
Required:
- One (1) year experience managing community engagement activities or other relevant professional experience in community relation communications and project management
Preferred:
- Prior experience in health care human services and/or nonprofit organizations
- An individual with life experience on the West Side preferred
Skills and Knowledge
Required:
- Direct current knowledge of Garfield Parks communities human services organizations and some key personnel is required.
- Knowledge of community health services public health or related fields desired.
- Knowledgeable about the patient communities Erie serves geographically and culturally.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously remain adaptable and understand project priorities in the context of multiple expectations.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to exercise good judgment in decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including PowerPoint and Excel.
Preferred:
- Ability to produce clear structured articulate and compelling communications for diverse audiences.

Required Experience:
