The Senior Environmental Engineer or Scientist will support projects and clients while assisting technical and professional staff in their growth and development. The role promotes collaboration within the Environment Practice and across other Technical Practices and Business Units to expand our environmental services and client offerings. The primary focus will be providing senior technical direction on proposals and projects as well as supporting the technical development of staff to enable successful project execution.

Locations - Vancouver BC Victoria Kelowna and Nelson BC.

Your role

Specific duties related to this position vary depending on level of experience but are generally as follows:

• Supervising and mentoring a team of environmental professionals and technical staff.
• Provide leadership with a focus on collaboration and instill a culture of diversityinclusionand equality.
• Understanding clientobjectives technical protocolsguidelinesand regulations that apply to the work/projects conducted and the rationale/developmental framework behind them.
• Acting as a direct interface between clients and theAtkinsRéalisproject team stakeholders including First Nationsand/or regulatory bodies asappropriate.
• Senior level project management (including technical program development management of personnel and resources oversight of budgets and schedules for deliverables implementing quality assurance reviews and ensuring clientobjectivesare met).
• Identifyingproject quality/project profitability risks and liabilities and developing strategies to minimize them.
• Embracing behavior-based safety and ensuring proper implementation and continued use of quality assurance programs and corporate policies and procedures including Ethics and Compliance.

About you

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering Geology Agrology Biology Chemistry or Environmental Sciences or another related discipline.
• Be a licensed certified professional and Contaminated Sites Approved Professional (Contaminated Sites Approved Professional (CSAP)) in BC.
• 15 years of progressive environmental consulting experience.
• Technical expertise in mining-sector environmental work including abandoned mine sites remediation strategies reclamation planning or mine closure design would be considered an asset. (Preferred)
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams providing mentorship coaching technical direction work planning and quality control for junior and intermediate staff across multiple office locations. (Preferred)
• In depthknowledge of municipalprovincialand federal environmentalstandardsregulationsand guidelines as they apply to environmental investigation andremediation projects inBritish Columbia(and other parts of Canada as applicable on a project specific basis).

Expected compensation for this role is (between Pay Range $106500- $146400 annually) (Only Applicable to British Columbia). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
