Service Technician

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician to support the inspection maintenance diagnostics and repair of our construction and rental equipment fleet. This role plays a critical part in ensuring equipment remains safe reliable and rent-ready for both internal projects and external customers.

The Service Technician will work closely with the Shop Manager and operations team while supporting the full rental equipment lifecycle from inspection and diagnostics through repair testing and documentation.

The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills and experience working with construction or rental equipment including hydraulic diesel and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect rental equipment upon return and prior to dispatch to ensure operational readiness
• Diagnose mechanical hydraulic electrical and diesel engine issues
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and determine required repairs
• Perform maintenance and repairs on construction and rental equipment
• Repair or replace defective components including hydraulic electrical and mechanical systems
• Conduct preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing to reduce equipment downtime
• Create and maintain accurate work orders and service records within Texada
• Document inspections repairs parts usage and maintenance activities
• Communicate equipment status and repair timelines with the Shop Manager
• Assist with preparing equipment for rental dispatch
• Maintain tools and shop equipment required to perform repairs
• Support general shop operations and maintain a safe and organized work environment

Equipment serviced may include:

• Construction equipment
• Small tools
• Pumps
• Generators
• Aerial equipment
• Earth-moving equipment
• Material handlers

• 35 years of experience servicing construction industrial or rental equipment
• Experience in a construction equipment or rental equipment environment is considered an asset
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic diesel electrical and mechanical systems
• Ability to diagnose and repair complex equipment issues
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office 365 tools (Outlook Teams Excel) for communication and documentation
• Experience using Texada or other equipment rental management systems to manage work orders and service records is considered an asset
• Must possess a personal set of tools appropriate for the role
• Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in shop or outdoor environments
• Strong problem-solving ability and mechanical aptitude
• Commitment to workplace safety protocols and procedures
