The Senior Director Accreditation Compliance and Accountability provides strategic leadership oversight and direction for institutional and programmatic accreditation regulatory compliance and enterprise-wide accountability initiatives. This role ensures UMGC meets and exceeds accreditation authorization and regulatory standards while driving continuous improvement operational excellence and data-informed decision-making across the institution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for institutional accreditation processes standards alignment and long-term planning.

  • Oversee development implementation and continuous refinement of accreditation-related policies and procedures.

  • Direct preparation submission and quality assurance of all accreditation reports documentation and compliance attestations.

  • Lead institutional readiness and logistics for accreditation reviews evaluations and site visits.

  • Partner with academic and administrative leaders to guide programmatic accreditation strategies and ensure alignment with institutional standards.

  • Oversee state authorization compliance reporting processes and strategic expansion planning.

  • Lead regulatory compliance initiatives risk mitigation practices and institutional accountability frameworks.

  • Supervise and mentor staff engaged in accreditation compliance and reporting functions.

  • Collaborate with senior university leadership to support governance transparency and continuous improvement efforts.

Education & Experience Requirements:

Education:

  • Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration Public Administration or related field.

  • Doctoral Degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 710 years of progressively responsible experience in accreditation compliance or related roles.

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams in higher education and managing complex institutional initiatives.

Certifications:

  • None required.
