The Junior Data Scientist will work in a big data environment to help us build and deliver secure AI-enabled this role you will develop and maintain Python and SQL solutions (e.g. using Jupyter/Notebook Streamlit and Snowflake) support data exploration and predictive modeling and help us implement generative AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of Python solutions in Jupyter/Notebook and Streamlit using Snowflake for data storage and querying under guidance from senior team members.
• Assist with designing prototyping and implementing AI-enabled capabilities (e.g. chatbots code-assist/code-generation workflows) to meet program needs.
• Help build and maintain evaluation datasets and metrics (e.g. accuracy groundedness hallucination checks) and contribute to model testing and quality validation.
• Create simple data visualizations dashboards and analysis outputs to communicate findings and support decision-making.
• Follow responsible AI practices throughout development and deployment including transparency fairness robustness explainability and basic solution observability escalating risks/issues as needed.
• Stay current on emerging AI/ML and assistant technologies; share relevant updates demos or findings with the team.
• Collaborate with an agile team of data scientists by completing assigned tasks participating in ceremonies documenting work and iterating on analytics products.

• US citizen or Authorized to Work and lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years. Must be able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge and pass a government Public Trust.
• Requires a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience with a Bachelors degree or a Masters degree with at least two (2) years of experience. Four (4) years of specialized experience may be substituted for a Bachelors degree.
• Advanced certifications can be used to substitute for experience.
• Experience with Python and SQL
• Experience with Python AI/ML libraries
• Experience with common data science toolkits such as pandas NumPy etc.
• Experience with code repository tools like GitHub is preferred
• Exposure to Generative AI NLP and LLM is preferred
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with analytics application and platform teams in an Agile environment
• Prior experience with Center for Medicare Medicaid Services or other government agencies is a plus

The salary range provided represents the estimated compensation for new hires in this position applicable across all locations. Actual offers may vary based on factors such as the candidates skills qualifications experience and market conditions.
