Position: Seasonal Part-Time Cook
Wolfes Neck Center for Agriculture and the Environment is excited to expand our culinary team. We are a farm-to-table grab and go cafe that offers coffee pastries breakfast and lunch. The Farm Cafe serves as a touch point to connect our visitors to the food that is produced here at Wolfes Neck Center. We source as much of the food from our own farm as possible and we supplement from other local farms and companies as possible.
We are looking for a seasonal part-time cook to round out our kitchen staff. This position will run from the first of June through the end of August. It will range from 12-18 hours a week depending on seasonal needs. Our ideal candidate is self motivated and someone who works with a sense of urgency. We want someone who wants to build their skills and deepen their connection to food. You will need to be comfortable and capable working alone and in a team environment.

Responsibilities
- Practice safe food handling
- Clear communication of mise en place and prep-needs
- Cleaning and organization of your space and the shared spaces
- Daily delivery and stocking of food to the cafe and farm store
- Preparation of hot and cold breakfast items
- Other prep work needed to all culinary operations
- Any other assigned tasks to help in the operation of the kitchen
- Participate in meetings and cross departmental projects as requested
Qualifications
- Experience:
- 1-3 years of culinary experience preferably in a similar style operation.
- Holds a servesafe food handler certification or equivalent.
- Skills:
- Basic knife skills
- The ability to follow clear written direction
- The ability to clearly communicate both in writing and verbally
- The ability to learn fast and retain information
- Adaptability and problem solving skills
- Basic familiarity with industrial kitchen equipment and their safe usage
- Candidates must be 21 years of age in order to drive farm vehicles.

Work Environment
- This position will predominantly require you to work by yourself.
- Prolonged standing moving and limited computer work may be required.
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Comfortable working in a team environment.
- Comfortable working in a public environment with daily interactions with WNC guests.
- Ready to have fun at work and work hard producing great food!
- The kitchen is a shared space between many departments and is located in our rental location
Requirements:
This is a part-time seasonal position running from June 1 2026 through October 18th 2026. These dates could become flexible for the right candidate.
The seasonal part-time cook must be able to:
- Legally work in the United States (We cannot provide visa sponsorship)
- Complete a successful background check prior to hiring.
- Must be able to lift 50lb repetitively
- Must be able to work effectively in a shared space.
- Three work references

- Pay range of $16-$18 DOE
