The role

This is a newly established role sitting at the heart of one of Australias most exciting urban development projects Bradfield City. Youll be responsible for building BDAs social sustainability capability from the ground up embedding social impact into how the organisation plans invests and delivers as the city takes shape.

Working across the organisation and with partners in government industry education and community including First Nations stakeholders youll develop the frameworks forge the partnerships and influence the decisions that turn social sustainability into something real and measurable for the people of Western Sydney. Youll also prepare strategic and governance documentation that supports Board-level oversight and accountability placing you at the centre of how BDA leads on social outcomes.

What you will bring to the role

  • Experience influencing organisational change in environments where social sustainability is still developing beyond a compliance focus
  • The ability to advise senior leaders and Boards with confidence drawing on evidence to inform strategic and investment decisions
  • A background in developing social sustainability frameworks that deliver genuine place-based community outcomes
  • Strong relationship skills across diverse stakeholders from executive teams and project leads to community organisations First Nations partners and government
  • Practical knowledge of social procurement baseline data outcome measurement and reporting
  • The ability to manage competing priorities balancing long-term social impact goals with fast-moving delivery demands
  • A genuine interest in promoting a purpose-driven culture where social sustainability sits alongside economic and environmental considerations and the persistence to bring others along with you

What is an essential requirement:

  • Tertiary qualifications in planning sociology and/or equivalent relevant experience.
