McAuley Community Services for Women helps women and children who have faced family violence and homelessness to take control of their lives. Through a range of supports including accommodation legal health recreation and social responses we support women to leave us with restored capacity and greater opportunities for safe housing economic capability and wellbeing.

This is a Permanent Part-Time (22.8 hours per week) opportunity based in Footscray within our Community Services program. The position reports to the Team Leader at McAuley House Footscray.

As part of McAuleys Skills for Life team youll support women at McAuley House and in the community providing practical tailored support that builds connection skills and pathways to safe independent living through the HACC (Home and Community Care) program.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Team leader your duties will include:

• Collaboration & Partnerships Build and maintain strong partnerships across McAuley and with volunteers contractors and community organisations to strengthen Skills for Life outcomes.
• Participant Support & Development Work with Case Managers to deliver tailored strengths-based support prioritising women with complex needs & building independence through practical and outreach support.
• Community Connection & Inclusion Strengthen community connection through inclusive trauma-informed engagement that links women to services learning social networks & cultural activities.
• Communication & Program Improvement Maintain clear communication with participants and stakeholders using feedback to shape & improve programs.
• Program Delivery - Support engaging Skills for Life and Food for Life activities working alongside volunteers contractors and community members to deliver quality programs.
• Capacity Building & HACC Compliance Link individuals and small groups with tailored supports to build independence while ensuring HACC support targets are met and align with funding requirements.
• Administration Maintain accurate records and reporting model best practise and support program delivery as directed by the Team Leader.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Commitment to equity and womens safety
• Understanding of feminist and intersectional practice
• Relevant tertiary qualification (social work or related)
• Relevant experience in homelessness mental health disability AOD or family violence
• Experience supporting people with complex needs
• Traumainformed clientcentred strengthsbased practice
• Experience delivering group work or community programs
• Ability to apply risk assessment and intervention
• Knowledge of relevant service networks
• Strong computer skills; client database experience desirable

You must have a:

• Valid and current Drivers Licence.
• Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
• Valid Employee Working with Children Check.
• Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles). MacKillop can assist successful candidates with their application.
