High School Math & Science Tutor (Part-Time In-Person)

Oxford Learning Halifax is seeking a motivated and reliable part-time Math & Science Tutor to join our this role you will work directly with high school students (Grades 912) helping them strengthen both subject knowledge and learning skills in a supportive structured environment.

This is an in-person position at our Halifax (Quinpool Road) location.

What Youll Do

• Teach up to 3 students at a time using Oxford Learnings proven methodologies
• Provide individualized support in subjects such as algebra advanced functions trigonometry calculus physics chemistry and biology
• Track student progress and complete brief post-lesson notes
• Foster a positive encouraging and focused learning environment
• Build rapport with students while maintaining a professional and structured approach

What Were Looking For

• Bachelors degree (or in progress) in a relevant field (Math Science Engineering etc.)
• Strong knowledge of the high school math and/or science curriculum
• Experience tutoring teaching or coaching
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Reliable availability for 23 evenings per week (4:007:00 pm or 4:008:30 pm)
• Ability to commute to our Halifax location
• Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check (required)

Nice to Have

• Ability to teach multiple subjects (e.g. both math and science)
• Experience working with different learning styles or students who need extra support
• Long-term availability (school year commitment or longer)

Salary / Compensation

• $19.00 $22.00 / hour to start based on experience
