Job Duties
To provide services which ensure a fair equitable and quality working-and learning environment for all employees and members of the university community to proactively and creatively provide all customers with superior innovation and cost-effective programs and services to continuously seek and supply all customers with the opportunities and resources needed to enhance their knowledge skills and abilities so they may better support the mission of the university. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Human Resources the HR Recruitment and Compensation Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for university-wide recruitment and compensation programs. The position supports over 850 full-time faculty and classified staff and more than 300 wage part-time and adjunct employees.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in compensation practices pay equity salary administration and compliance within higher education or public sector settings.
Strong knowledge of HR best practices employee engagement HR technology and service delivery models.
Proven ability to lead ethically manage change resolve complex issues and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Compensation principles including salary management for faculty and classified employees
Collaboration consultation and consensus building.
Analysis of complex compensation data and formulation of sound recommendations.
Program planning implementation evaluation and continuous improvement.
Workforce succession and salary planning.
Strong organizational analytical and project management skills.
Knowledge of employment laws and regulations (EEO FLSA Equal Pay Act ADEA DHRM policies).
Additional Considerations
Masters degree in Public Administration Human Resources Finance Management or a related discipline.
Knowledge of and experience applying Virginia DHRM policies and procedures.
Project Management Lean Six Sigma or other relevant professional certifications.
HR certification (e.g. PHR SPHR CCP CEBS) is preferred.
