Description

The Windreich Department of Artificial Intelligence and Human Health (AIHH) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai leads a pioneering collaboration with The Charles Bronfman Institute for Personalized Medicine (CBIPM) the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Health (HPIMS) and Scientific Computing and Data (SCD) to transform the future of healthcare. Together these four entities form a unified ecosystem that integrates advanced AI-driven diagnostics large-scale clinical research and cutting-edge digital innovation to accelerate scientific discovery and deliver meaningful improvements in patient care and health systems worldwide.

The Budget Analystwill be responsible for post-award grants and finance management including spend tracking and projections. The Budget Analyst will report directly to the Senior Grants Manager as part of the Operations Team within AIHH and will interact with directly with the AIHH CBIPM HPIMS and SCD leadership faculty staff and students.

The Budget Analyst examines budget estimates for completeness accuracy and conformance with procedures and regulations. This individual reviews requests for budget revisions recommends approval or denial and drafts correspondence. S/he analyzes monthly department budgeting and accounting reports for the purposes of maintaining expenditure controls and provides technical assistance to all related staff in budget preparation.



Responsibilities
  • Manage and update faculty portfolios including spend tracking personnel allocations and purchase orders and meet with faculty and related staff to provide regular financial updates.
  • Create projections for externally and internally funded projects including NIH grants industry contracts and operating funds and submit recommendations for budget allocations.
  • Analyze costs in relation to services performed during previous fiscal years to prepare comparative analyses of operating programs.
  • Recommend approval or disapproval of requests for funds.
  • Correlate appropriations for specific programs with appropriations for divisional programs and includes items for emergency funds.
  • Direct preparation of regular and special budget reports to interpret budget directives and to establish policies for carrying out directives.
  • Assist in the creation implementation or revision of continuous improvement initiatives related to grants and finance management.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.


Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in areas such as accounting finance business public administration economics statistics political science or sociology or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years experience in budgeting or financial management.
  • Grants management experience is preferred.
