The Opportunity

This position works out of our Temecula CA location in the Abbott Vascular Devices division.

Abbott Vascular provides innovative minimally invasive and cost-effective products for the treatment of vascular disease.

The Technician II Equipment Line provides technical support relating to equipmentutilizedin the manufacturing areas by repairingmaintaining ormodifyingproduction equipmentutilizingtechnicalexpertise technical manuals schematic drawings precision tools and test equipment.

What Youll Work On

List the main responsibilities this role regularly performs.

  • Responds to assembly line equipment repair calls by diagnosing equipment problems and performing the necessary repair.

  • Documentsequipment qualifications and upgrades made to existing machines including preventative maintenance performed and parts used to ensureappropriate documentationof repair history in the MP2 maintenance database.

  • Maintains back-up equipment and ensures spare parts aremaintainedat the required levels to meet manufacturing equipment needs.

  • Assistsindustrial manufacturing and quality engineers in the operation of equipment.

  • Provides equipment development engineers with feedback on equipment issues and offers suggestions for improving equipment uptime.

  • Assistin the construction of worktables providing necessary utilities and settingup ofequipment on manufacturing assembly lines.

  • Modifies existing assembly lines or workstations asrequiredto accommodate manufacturing demands.

  • Plans organizes and prioritizesowndaily work routine to meetestablishedschedule.

  • Solvesa variety ofproblems oflimited to moderate scope and complexity requiring basic interpretation of defined procedures and practices.

  • Maintains confidentiality in handling sensitive information or documents.

Required Qualifications

Education Level

Major / Field of Study Or Equivalent

  • High School Diploma / GED or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • Associates Degree ( 13 years) or some college credits preferred.

    Experience

    Minimum 2 years

    2-5 years of related work experience

    • Applies broad knowledge of general technical concepts and practices and a general understanding of product or systems fundamentals.

    • Utilizes increased knowledge of numerical and statistical data and computer software programs to resolve non-routine/moderately complex problems.

    • Will perform this job in a quality system environment.

    • Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.

    • Performs non-routine to moderately complex technical assignments using standard methods and sequences. Performs set-up testing repair inspection and/or maintenance of all area-specific equipment materials systems and/or product. Makes adjustments modifications and replacements as directed.

    • Assignments require broad judgment in troubleshooting proven processes as well as the ability to suggest alternatives.

The base pay for this position is

$19.35 $38.75/hour
