Normal Work Schedule: Normal hours M-F 7:30am to 4:30pm but may vary depending on University need and some evening and weekend for special events. |
Job Summary: The Painter II performs journeyman level painting and the finishing of surfaces of buildings and other structures and equipment in accordance with standard practices of the trade. While tasks are assigned orally or in written form by a supervisor and achieved with some independence they are subject to inspection for appearance and workmanship. |
Duties and Responsibilities: - Cleans and prepares surfaces to be painted by using sandpaper burners scrapers brushes sanding machines and dusters.
- Mixes and matches paints.
- Applies paint to the exterior and interior of buildings.
- Paints cabinets bookcases and other furniture.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications: - Any combination of training and experience equivalent to: Completion of eighth grade in school.
- Experience as a journeyman painter or completion of an apprenticeship in the trade.
