Distribution Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Distribution Design Engineer to join our Design team in Glen Waverley working in a hybrid arrangement with a mix of office and WFH.

This role has a strong focus on overhead distribution design and will see you delivering detailed designs across LV HV and up to 66kV projects. Youll work closely with Project Managers Construction Managers Surveyors and fellow Design Engineers supporting major Victorian networks including United Energy AusNet and Jemena.

Key Responsibilities include

• Design overhead distribution projects including LV HV and 66kV network assets
• Interpret overhead line surveys and translate them into accurate design drawings
• Produce detailed designs and drawings using AutoCAD in line with VESI and client standards
• Manage design delivery from concept through to final issue including cost schedule and quality considerations
• Liaise with internal stakeholders clients and network authorities to manage design requirements and expectations
• Identify communicate and mitigate design and constructability risks
• Support governance design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

Youre a capable and practical Design Engineer with strong overhead distribution experience and a collaborative mindset.

• A degree in Electrical Engineering (other disciplines also considered with strong VESI design experience)
• Demonstrated experience in overhead distribution design within Victorian utilities
• Strong AutoCAD capability this is essential
• Knowledge of Victorian power network standards (VESI)
• Experience working with networks such as UE AusNet and/or Jemena
• NEARA experience is desirable but not essential
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
• RPEng registration is advantageous but not mandatory
