The Operations Manager is responsible for leading production operations to ensure contractual commitments are met while driving operational excellence efficiency and profitability. This role oversees multiple production areas through a team of production supervisors and plays a critical role in advancing compliance standards for defense-related manufacturing. The position requires strong leadership cross-functional collaboration and the ability to drive performance in a dynamic high-mix low-volume environment.

YOUR IMPACT

- Lead and develop a team of production supervisors overseeing approximately 6070 indirect reports across multiple production lines
- Ensure safe high-quality and efficient production that meets delivery commitments and cost targets
- Drive performance across key metrics including safety quality delivery labor efficiency and overall throughput
- Oversee production of defense-related products ensuring adherence to ITAR export controls and all applicable compliance requirements
- Partner with engineering manufacturing engineering project management and supply chain to resolve production issues and improve processes
- Support and influence production scheduling material flow and inventory management to optimize operational performance
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity reduce inefficiencies and improve overall manufacturing processes
- Foster a collaborative team-oriented culture that encourages problem solving accountability and cross-functional engagement
- Participate in union-related activities including grievance resolution and disciplinary processes in alignment with labor agreements
- Manage departmental budgets monitor expenditures and ensure operations remain within financial targets
- Support organizational changes and transformation efforts related to defense manufacturing and compliance readiness
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in a related field
- Eight plus years of related work experience
- Strong background in defense manufacturing with working knowledge of ITAR and export control requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational planning and decision-making capabilities
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience leading leaders in a manufacturing environment including supervision of production supervisors
- Proven ability to lead in fast-paced high-change environments and drive teams through operational transformation
- Experience in high-mix low-volume manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of production flow assembly operations and inventory management
- Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across functions including engineering supply chain and operations
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and adapt to evolving business needs

Pay Range:
$92600.00 - $154400.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range individual pay is determined by various factors including the scope and responsibilities of the role the candidates experience education and skills as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
