The Operations Manager is responsible for leading production operations to ensure contractual commitments are met while driving operational excellence efficiency and profitability. This role oversees multiple production areas through a team of production supervisors and plays a critical role in advancing compliance standards for defense-related manufacturing. The position requires strong leadership cross-functional collaboration and the ability to drive performance in a dynamic high-mix low-volume environment.

YOUR IMPACT

• Lead and develop a team of production supervisors overseeing approximately 6070 indirect reports across multiple production lines
• Ensure safe high-quality and efficient production that meets delivery commitments and cost targets
• Drive performance across key metrics including safety quality delivery labor efficiency and overall throughput
• Oversee production of defense-related products ensuring adherence to ITAR export controls and all applicable compliance requirements
• Partner with engineering manufacturing engineering project management and supply chain to resolve production issues and improve processes
• Support and influence production scheduling material flow and inventory management to optimize operational performance
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity reduce inefficiencies and improve overall manufacturing processes
• Foster a collaborative team-oriented culture that encourages problem solving accountability and cross-functional engagement
• Participate in union-related activities including grievance resolution and disciplinary processes in alignment with labor agreements
• Manage departmental budgets monitor expenditures and ensure operations remain within financial targets
• Support organizational changes and transformation efforts related to defense manufacturing and compliance readiness

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree in a related field
• Eight plus years of related work experience

• Strong background in defense manufacturing with working knowledge of ITAR and export control requirements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational planning and decision-making capabilities

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience leading leaders in a manufacturing environment including supervision of production supervisors
• Proven ability to lead in fast-paced high-change environments and drive teams through operational transformation
• Experience in high-mix low-volume manufacturing environments
• Knowledge of production flow assembly operations and inventory management
• Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across functions including engineering supply chain and operations
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and adapt to evolving business needs
