Job Summary

Description

Position Objective:

The PL Program Seasonal Program Staff will work with the PL Program Coordinator and PL Activities Coordinator to lead the daily all-camp program activities and team competitions at PL and is responsible to model a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship nurturing spiritual growth of campers through program activities and curriculum in a manner consistent with MHAs mission vision and values.

General Qualifications:

The PL Program Seasonal Program Staff is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work stewardship relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon Association Inc.s (MHA) mission vision and beliefs. They are responsible for defining cultivating and leading MHAs Christian community conference programs and retreats.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • In coordination with the PL Program Coordinator and PL Activities Coordinator assist in executing quality all-camp program activities and team competitions for both junior high and high school campers ensuring that all programs are holistic and accomplishing set objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned by the PL Program Coordinator and PL Activities Coordinator.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None


Qualifications

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

  • Some college experience preferred
  • Must be CPR/First Aid certified.
  • Current valid drivers license and a clean driving record required.

Work Experience:

  • Prior experience and leadership in youth programming with a strong background in ministry leadership.
  • Leadership experience with junior high and high school students.
  • Prior experience in camping ministry having served in various roles.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to articulate the gospel of Jesus Christ as communicated in Scripture.
  • Ability to demonstrate a personal committed and thought-through faith in Christ.
  • Attention to detail and follow-through creative flexible and able to adjust to challenges of the program.
  • Ability to engage in a variety of outdoor activities.

Physical Demands:

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold wet/humid and dry/arid conditions. Requires seeing hearing talking sitting standing squatting stooping twisting and hiking.

Additional Requirements/Skills:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age due to the requirement for onsite community living.
  • Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHAs Mission Vision Values and Commitment statements.
  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Commitment to being part of the summer staff team within the camp community and investing in staff and campers during camp sessions.
  • Commitment to spending time serving campers and helping to create a great experience for them.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
