The Adult Medical unit has 36-bed and located in Boston MA. The unit is devoted to the care of the acutely ill medical patient. The patient population on this unit includes a vast mix of medical diagnoses requiring complex nursing care.
Schedule
Day (7am-7pm) and Nights (7pm-7am) on Weekdays and weekends.
Mandatory weekend shifts every other week.

Job Summary
SummaryWorking under the direction of licensed personnel assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing dressing and eating. Also assists with taking patients temperature blood pressure pulse and respiration.

Essential Functions
-Performs patient care-related duties and clinical functions as assigned including but not limited to performing and documenting point of care vital signs EKGs bathing and other sanitary needs of patients transferring and assisting with ambulation of patients 1:1 patient observation for safety purposes and phlebotomy. Assist RNs and physicians with other exams and treatments as required.
-Completes all documentation such as height weight intake of fluids and food output of urine/stool/vomit/other drainage and blood glucose results in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
-Assists patients with food tray setup eating and feeding as needed.
-Ensures that patient rooms are stocked equipped and cleaned appropriately as needs indicate and as patient volumes change.
-Retrieves equipment from other areas sets up equipment cleans equipment between patient use and reports malfunctioning equipment per organizational policy.
-Assists with admitting and discharging patients.
-Facilitates orientation of new PCA team members as directed.
-Interacts with patients visitors and other care team members effectively
-Communicates with nursing staff effectively and in a timely manner regarding issues related to patient care and condition.
-Fosters a positive collaborative team environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.
