About the Team

The Consumer Technology eXperience (CTX) Compliance Team oversees the following compliance areas for the broader CTX organization. CTX-Compliance designs leads and implements a digital data privacy and accessibility program to meet corporate and regulatory needs. It serves as the interface to the Chief Compliance Office Legal Regulatory and Audit partners.

Job Summary

This Principal System Engineer is a senior technical role responsible for architecting designing and delivering AIdriven dataintensive and cloudnative platformssupporting AT&Ts Consumer Technology eXperience (CTX) digital and compliance ecosystems. This role requires deep handson experience in Artificial Intelligence Generative AI Agentic AI Machine Learning Deep Learning and Data Engineering combined with enterpriselevel system design modernization and crossfunctional collaboration.

NOTE- This role requires the following:

• Experience developing Agentic AI applicationsusing Pythonbased frameworks (e.g. ADK) or equivalent orchestration platforms.
• Handson experience building AI/ML Generative AI or Agentic AI solutionsin production environments.
• 8 years of strong demonstrated expertise in PHP / Laravel development including productiongrade applications.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

AI / GenAI / Agentic AI Engineering

• Design build and operate productiongrade AI GenAI and Agentic AI solutions at enterprise scale.
• Develop Agentic AI applications using Pythonbased frameworks(e.g. ADK) or equivalent orchestration platforms.
• Implement LLMbased workflows including prompt orchestration RAG and autonomous agent patterns.
• Work on with Data Science and ML teams to operationalize AI solutions with security auditability and observability.
• Embed responsible AI practicesincluding privacy logging monitoring and governance controls.

Data Engineering & Intelligent Platforms

• Architect and implement endtoend ETL/ELT pipelines(ingestion cleansing transformation enrichment).
• Build realtime and batch data pipelinesusing Kafkaand eventdriven architectures.
• Engineer data platforms using Python PySpark and Databrickson Azure (preferred)
• Apply expertise in data modeling data architecture data mining and data warehousing.
• Process structured semistructured and unstructured dataat scale.

System Architecture

• Define and enforce engineering standards architectural patterns and best practices.
• Drive legacy modernizationincluding monolithtomicroservices and cloud migrations.
• Design microservicesbased architecturesto expose AI and data capabilities.

FullStack & API Engineering

• Develop scalable solutions using:
  • Backend: (TypeScript preferred) Laravel (PHP)
  • Frontend: or equivalent modern UI frameworks
• Design secure wellgoverned APIs (REST GraphQL) with authentication auditing and logging.
• Ensure code quality testability and maintainability.

Accessibility Security & Compliance

• Integrate accessibilitybydesignaligned to WCAG standards.
• Embed accessibility security privacy and SOX controls into application and AI workflows.
• Integrate automated and manual accessibility testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience developing Agentic AI applicationsusing Pythonbased frameworks (e.g. ADK) or equivalent orchestration platforms.
• Handson experience building AI/ML Generative AI or Agentic AI solutionsin production environments.
• 10 years of handson experiencein Software Engineering Data Engineering or System Engineering.
• 8 years of strong demonstrated expertise in PHP / Laravel development including productiongrade applications.
• 8 years of handson experience designing developing and maintaining desktop mobile and responsive web applications using Laravel and deployed in Azure containerbased environments.
• 8 years of strong demonstrated expertise in including API and microservices development.
• 8 years of frontend development experience including responsive frameworks CSS JavaScript and modern UI patterns.
• 8 years of experience designing and implementing database solutions with expertlevel PostgreSQL (PGSQL) coding performance tuning and industrystandard normalization practices.
• Strong handson expertise in:
  • Python and PySpark
  • Building ETL/ELT pipelinesendtoend
  • Distributed and cloudnative architectures
• Experience with:
  • Eventdriven and streaming architectures (Kafka)
  • Microservices and APIbased platforms
  • Secure coding and compliancedriven development
• Experience with OAuth providers cloud logging auditing and monitoring tools.
• Bachelors degree in computer science Engineering or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing LLMbased solutions including prompt orchestration and retrievalaugmented generation (RAG).
• Experience with TypeScript and GraphQLin modern API and frontend architecture.
• Proficiency with realtime data processingand largescale distributed data platforms.
• Experience with Docker and Linuxbased systemsfor containerized deployments.
• Experience with Power BI and/or observability and visualization tools such as Grafana Kibana or Tableau.
• Experience integrating accessibility testing and compliance checksinto CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working in largescale enterprise or highly regulated environments.

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering Computer Science Applied Science Electrical Engineering or Math; Developer nanodegree; or equivalent experience.

Our Principal System Engineering earns between$174100-$261100 USD Annual Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography experience expertise and education/training.
