Schedule: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM Every third weekend rotation
SUMMARY
As a Senior Medical Technologist your strong procedural experience attention to detail and developed leadership abilities greatly assist you in accurately performing clinical laboratory analysis and examination leading to high quality diagnostic services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lab Management. Perform specialized and complex diagnostic procedures; accurately prepare reagents and maintain proper inventory of laboratory section supplies; interpret and correlate clinical test results with patient history diagnosis and clinical condition in order to explain test results; communicate stat and critical lab results; perform quality control routine and advanced maintenance and instrument troubleshooting
- Technical Knowledge. Maintain knowledge of required computer functions associated with testing and to assist in completing testing and workflow management; may conduct research and development of new or updated technologies and provide written evaluation to supervisor
- Leadership. Assist in training new and existing employees on new procedures and instrumentation; act as a technical consultant to technologists technicians and/or students rotating through their area; teach in the School of Medical Technology and Lab rotations as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Medical Technology or BS in a related Science (Biology Chemistry or The Physical Sciences) and/or equivalent relevant experience as recognized by New York State Department of Education for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist. (NYS Dept of Education Education Law Title 8 Article 165 sub-parts 79-15; 9/23/8).
- 4 years of relevant Medical Technology Laboratory experience.
- New York State Department of Education License or Limited Permit as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
- If travel is required must have a valid NYS drivers license as defined by the RGHS Motor Vehicle and Authorized Drivers Policy.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certification by American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in a Clinical or Pathology Laboratory a benefit.
- Previous experience in a laboratory supervisory or leadership position

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations including continuing education requirements.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience relevant qualifications specialty internal equity location and contracts.
